The Landscape Architecture program at Beijing Forestry University is one of the university's key specialty programs. It is a national-level "First-Class Undergraduate Program" construction site, a national-level characteristic major, and a Beijing municipal key construction first-class undergraduate program and characteristic major. The discipline of Landscape Architecture at Beijing Forestry University has been selected as a "World-Class Discipline" by the state. It ranked first in the third round of national discipline assessments and was rated A+ in the fourth round, making it the only program in China to undergo international evaluation in the field of Landscape Architecture. This program consistently leads in landscape architecture education in China, with professional recognition among the top in the world.

Educational Objectives

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE (LIANGXI CLASS)

To meet the needs of the nation and industry for leading talents, and to further improve the quality of education, the School of Landscape Architecture has established the "Liangxi Class," specifically focusing on Urban and Rural Ecological Environment. This class offers an exploratory educational practice for top-notch innovative undergraduate talent. The Landscape Architecture program, which supports the Liangxi Class, is one of Beijing Forestry University's key specialty programs and is a national-level "First-Class Undergraduate Program" construction site, a national-level characteristic major, and a Beijing municipal key construction first-class undergraduate program and characteristic major.

Educational Objectives

The program addresses key issues and opportunities in urban and rural living environment development. With a series of landscape architecture design studio courses at its core, the curriculum integrates relevant theories of domestic and international human living environment history and practice, scientific principles of ecology, plant science, hydrology, and soil science, as well as engineering management and digital technology. The program emphasizes practical experience and the application of cutting-edge technology to equip students with solid foundational skills in planning, design, and management, as well as the ability to independently identify, analyze, and creatively solve problems using professional concepts and ideas. Graduates are expected to become top innovative leaders in the industry, capable of working collaboratively with various planning, design, and management personnel.

LANDSCAPE GARDENIN

Distinctive Features

The Landscape Gardening program is one of Beijing Forestry University's traditional and prestigious specialty programs. It is a national-level "First-Class Undergraduate Program" construction site, a national-level characteristic major, and a Beijing municipal characteristic major. The program has been included in the first batch of national reform pilot projects for the cultivation of top agricultural and forestry talents and the national comprehensive professional reform project. It enjoys a high level of international recognition and prestige.

URBAN AND RURAL PLANNING (Five-Year Program)

Distinctive Features

The Urban and Rural Planning program was established in 1999 and is a national-level "First-Class Undergraduate Program" construction site. In 2011, Urban and Rural Planning became an independent first-level discipline, fully leveraging the strengths of Beijing Forestry University's Landscape Architecture discipline. The program emphasizes green principles and ecological features, focusing on comprehensive abilities in territorial spatial planning, urban and rural ecological environment creation, urban green space development, urban design, and community renewal. It also emphasizes the cultivation of aesthetic quality and the integration of theory with practical planning and design capabilities, aiming to cultivate top professionals for the nation.

Educational Objectives

The program aims to cultivate high-end, innovative talents with an ecological and innovative mindset, equipped with basic knowledge in urban planning and design, planning management, architecture, urban geography, urban economics, urban sociology, ecology, landscape architecture art and engineering. HORTICULTURE

Distinctive Features

The Horticulture program was established in 2000 and is a national-level "First-Class Undergraduate Program" construction site and one of the first pilot projects for the National Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talent Training Plan reform. The program, under the Agriculture discipline's Plant Production category, was the first in China to be awarded a doctoral degree in the Landscape Plants and Ornamental Horticulture discipline. The program's first-level discipline, "Landscape Architecture," is included in the national "Double First-Class" discipline construction list, and the "Landscape Plants and Ornamental Horticulture" (second-level discipline) it relies on is the first national key discipline in this field in China.

The Ornamental Horticulture and Biotechnology programs at Beijing Forestry University boast a long history, distinct characteristics, well-established teaching facilities, and a strong faculty team. The programs have joined forces to offer a double degree aimed at selecting and cultivating top innovative talents who will contribute to the development of national seed industry technology and ensure seed security. Students who meet the degree requirements will be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology and a Bachelor of Agriculture degree in Horticulture (Ornamental Horticulture Track).

The Tourism Management program, under the Management discipline, was established in 1995 and became one of the first units in China to offer a Master of Tourism Management degree in 2010.
