College of Landscape Studies Conducts Investigations on Shallow Mountainous Areas in the Shijingshan District and in the Urban-Rural Area

In order to develop the "Green Metropolis Beijing" teaching and research project of the Landscape Architecture College in 2018 better, and explore the "school-area cooperation" model between the Beijing Forestry University and the Shijingshan District Government, after communicating with the Shijingshan District Government, on March 13, 2018, the team led by vice president Liu Zhicheng of our college and the “Green Metropolis Beijing” teaching and research team of urban and rural eco-environmental laboratory went to Shijingshan District for investigation and research. They have visited the Tiantai Mountain, Nanmachang Reservoir and Yongding River along the site. And then the "Shijingshan Shallow Mountainous Area and Urban-rural Combined Development Strategy Seminar" was convened in Shijingshan District Landscaping Bureau.

Mr. Mao Xuan, the director of the Landscaping Bureau of Shijingshan District, firstly extended a warm welcome to the College of Landscape Architecture of Beijing Forestry University’s on behalf of the government of Shijingshan District, and then fully described the characteristics of the greening system, the landscaping work, the current mission and future vision in the Shijingshan District. The research team of our college introduced the basic situation of the college to leaders of participating in Shijingshan District, including since “Beijing Laboratory of Urban and Rural Eco-environment” established, it has explored some hot issues in the era such as new urbanization and ecological civilization construction, urban green renovation, sustainable development of urban and rural landscape regions, etc. Our college focused on the planning achievements of Beijing Forestry University with the theme of “Beijing Green Corridor” in the areas along the Jingzhang High-speed Rail Line, the Three Hills and Five Gardens Area and the Yongding River diversion canal, and the integration of “investigation, research, planning, and design” operating mode. The two sides exchanged views on the follow-up work in 2018 of the “Green Metropolis” teaching and research project of the Landscape Architecture College in Shijingshan District and the strengthening of “school-district cooperation”.

The teaching and research team of the Beijing Forestry University’s College of Landscape Architecture, which participated in the symposium, included: Professor Liu Zhicheng (vice dean), Professor Lin Qing, Associate Professor Wang Peiyong, Associate Professor Yin Hao, Associate Professor Qian Yun, Associate Professor Zhang Yunlu, and Associate Professor Duan Wei. Relevant leaders of Shijingshan District Landscaping Bureau, Planning Bureau, Culture Commission, Tourism Commission, Western Development Office, Collective Economic Office, and Wuliyan Street participated in the forum, too.

 

This survey aims to promote the teaching and research work of our college to be closer to the actual problems and needs, and to conduct beneficial explorations in support of Beijing’s implementation of the new version of the city’s overall plan and the acceleration of the “four centers” to provide intellectual support.
