Overview
The International Student Program leading to the Master in Landscape Architecture (MLA) of Beijing Forestry University is dedicated to the cultivation of interdisciplinary professionals with world leading skills in landscape Architecture, Ecological Restoration and related fields. The program started in 2017 with English language tuition. The main research areas include Landscape Architectural History and Theory, Landscape Architectural Planning and Design, Landscape Planning and Ecological Restoration, Landscape Planting Practice and Landscape Construction and Technology.
Curriculum
The duration of the program is 3 years, requiring a minimum of 36 credits to complete. In the first two academic years, students will focus on their core courses in design, history, theory, technology, ecology and expression. In the third year, students will have the opportunity to engage in LA design practice and cutting-edge academic research, while undertaking dissertation research study.
Academic Requirements
i) To obtain the diploma, students must complete their dissertations independently under the guidance of their supervisors and pass the oral defense.
ii) The dissertation should consist of a research report and a final design.:
1. The research report should focus on exploring approaches to solving practical problems in the field of landscape architecture.
2. The final design should be a completed professional planning or design project in the field of landscape architecture.
Admission Requirements
Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens between 18 and 35 years old, with good health condition and valid passport. Applicants of this program are required for educational background in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Planning, Ornamental Horticulture, Environment Design, Civil Engineer or related disciplines.

1. Register and log in on http://ic.bjfu.edu.cn to complete an online application form and upload required documents.
2. Check the application status online in a timely manner. An application fee of RMB 800 will be required after passing the preliminary review.
Admissions | Beijing Forestry University—Lincoln University (LU) "3.5+2" Cooperative Education Program
Program Duration and Degree Conferment
Participants of the BFU-LU "3.5+2" Cooperative Education Program are required to complete the first 3.5 years (7 semesters) of study in their major at the School of Landscape Architecture, Beijing Forestry University. After evaluation and confirmation that the students meet the requirements of the 3.5+2 program curriculum, they will proceed to Lincoln University to complete the final semester of their undergraduate studies while simultaneously beginning the first semester of Lincoln University's Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) program. During this semester, students must complete the courses and components specified in Beijing Forestry University's undergraduate training program, earn the corresponding credits, and successfully defend their bachelor's thesis to obtain the undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree in the relevant major from Beijing Forestry University. Starting from the ninth semester, students will continue their postgraduate studies at Lincoln University, and upon completing the required graduate courses and meeting all relevant degree awarding criteria, they will be awarded a master's degree from Lincoln University.
Students participating in this program must first obtain the bachelor's degree conferred by Beijing Forestry University. Only after completing the postgraduate study requirements at Lincoln University within the prescribed time frame will they be eligible to receive the Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Lincoln University.
Admissions | Beijing Forestry University—University of Georgia(UGA) “3+2” Cooperative Education Program
Program Duration and Degree Conferment
Participants of the BFU-UGA "3+2" Cooperative Education Program are required to complete the first 3 years of study in their major at the School of Landscape Architecture, BFU. In the 4th year, they will study at UGA,US while continuing to fulfill the undergraduate requirements of BFU. Upon completing the courses and components specified in BFU's undergraduate curriculum, earning the corresponding credits, and successfully defending their bachelor's thesis, they will receive the undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree in the relevant major from Beijing Forestry University. In the 5th year, students will continue their graduate studies at UGA. After completing the required graduate courses and meeting all the degree-awarding criteria, they will be awarded a master's degree from UGA.
Students participating in this program must first obtain the bachelor's degree conferred by Beijing Forestry University. Only after completing the graduate study requirements at UGA within the prescribed time frame will they be eligible to receive the Master of Landscape Architecture degree from UGA.

Participants of the BFU-UIUC "3+2" Cooperative Education Program are required to complete the first 3 years of study in their major at the School of Landscape Architecture, BFU. In the 4th year, they will study at UIUC,US while continuing to fulfill the undergraduate requirements of BFU. Upon completing the courses and components specified in BFU's undergraduate curriculum, earning the corresponding credits, and successfully defending their bachelor's thesis, they will receive the undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree in the relevant major from Beijing Forestry University.
