Study on Landscape Ways of Rainwater Resource Utilization in Urban Public Space

Abstract: In recent years, rainwater events happened in urban public space frequently. They made landscape designers begin to review the rainwater resource management and utilization of public spaces except the functional and aesthetic design. The paper analyzes the rainwater runoff process, puts forward the public space landscape combine with the design principle of rainwater resource utilization and selects four types of urban public space, which are building, ground, road and urban river to explore the ways the landscape from the perspective of rainwater resource utilization for sustainable development. It points out to achieve the goal of sustainable use of rainwater requires cooperation with various government departments through improve laws, regulations, policies and public education to carry on the management.
